Anti Slip Tape

Self-adhesive anti slip tape for every surface

STEPTAK® anti slip tape is a self-adhesive, mineral-coated tape that turns slippery stairs, ramps, ladders, loading docks and walkways into a high-traction surface. It is available on flexible PVC, dimensionally stable PET and conformable aluminum foil carriers, in different grits and in black, safety yellow, hazard stripes and many other colors.

Need a softer, barefoot-friendly surface? See our non-abrasive tape. For stairs in dark areas, combine grip and visibility with glow in the dark anti slip tape.

How to choose the right anti slip tape

Start with the carrier. PVC anti slip tape is flexible and suits most stairs, ramps, floors and ladders. PET grip tape is dimensionally stable for light to heavy shoe traffic, and aluminum foil anti slip tape conforms to diamond plate, rivets and uneven surfaces.

Then choose the grit. A lower grit number means a coarser, more aggressive surface: 36 or 46 grit for heavy-duty industrial areas, 60 grit for general use and 80 or 100 grit where a finer, more comfortable texture is preferred. For bare feet, choose a non-abrasive tape instead.

Where anti slip tape is used

  • Stairs, steps and stair edges in offices, schools and public buildings
  • Ramps, loading docks and walkways in factories and warehouses
  • Ladders, machinery platforms and vehicle steps
  • Dry, wet and oily floors in industrial and commercial areas
  • Fire escapes, kitchens and agricultural buildings

Sizes, colors and custom options

Standard rolls come in widths such as 25 mm, 50 mm and 100 mm and lengths such as 5 m and 10 m, in black, hazard stripes, safety yellow and many other colors. Frequently asked questions

What grit anti slip tape should I use?

Coarse grits such as 36 and 46 give the most traction for industrial areas and heavy traffic. 60 grit is a good general-purpose choice, while 80 and 100 grit feel finer underfoot. For bathrooms, pools and other barefoot areas use non-abrasive tape.

Can anti slip tape be used outdoors?

Yes. Mineral-coated anti slip tapes are used on outdoor stairs, ramps and walkways. For best results, apply on a clean, dry surface in suitable weather and seal the edges where water or heavy wear is expected.

Which carrier is best for uneven or metal surfaces?

Aluminum foil anti slip tape can be pressed into the pattern of diamond plate and around rivets, so it is the usual choice for uneven metal surfaces. PVC and PET carriers suit flat surfaces.

Can you produce custom sizes, colors and printed tape?

Yes. Width, length, color, grit, die-cut shape, printing and packaging can all be customized for OEM and distributor orders. Contact us with your requirements for a quotation.
